Scottish physicist Robert Watson-Watt once went over the speed limit driving a car, and a traffic policeman stopped him. Having paid the fine, the professor said smiling: “Next time, I should think twice before inventing radar.” He was not lying: the first device called radar (abbreviation of words radio detection and ranging) was demonstrated by Robert Watson-Watt on February 26, 1935.
