On this day, Alexey Stakhanov, a coal miner of the Tsentralnaya-Irmino mine in Donbass, exceeded the production rate by 14 times, i.e., produced 102 tons of coal in a single shift. On September 11,, Nikita Izotov, a coal miner of the Kochegarka mine in Horlivka, completed thirty shift tasks. He was named a Stakhanovite, i.e., Stakhanov’s follower. For many years no one said that the work of Stakhanovite miners was organized according to the principle described by Nekrasov: “My father, as you hear, chops the wood, and I take it away.”
