29 июня 1964 года создали пульт дистанционного управления телевизором

Today is a holiday for all lazybones that love to spend their free time together with their four-legged friend, the couch. It was on this day, in the distant year 1964, that the TV remote control box was created. Since that time, we can watch the “silly box for idiots,” according to the Russian singer and songwriter Vladimir Vysotsky, or consume “chewing gum for the eyes,” as literary critic John Mason Brown called it, with much more comfort. The legs of all TV lovers definitely became weaker, but their fingers developed incredible agility: we can switch between channels all day long. This creative and exciting hobby even got a special name, “zapping.”
