He is considered the most famous member of the extended mathematical family. Johann Bernoulli was the first to give a complete systematic explanation of differential and integral calculus. He set and solved the first variational problem in history and much more; it is impossible to list all his works. Johann Bernoulli's writings became the basis of the first textbook of mathematical analysis ever, published by his student Guillaume Lopital. There are Leonhard Euler and his own son Daniel among Johann Bernoulli's students. And a couple of fancy figures to conclude: the members of the Bernoulli family worked at the University of Basel for two and a half centuries. Moreover, the Bernoulli were heads of the mathematics department for more than a hundred years.
On July 27, 1667, great mathematician Johann Bernoulli was born
