About 544 BC – about 483 BC. Ancient Greek philosopher. The creator of the original dialectics.


1. Knowledge imparts no intelligence.

2. In change, we find our purpose.

3. People wouldn’t be better off if all their wished came true.

4. A conversation should be held in such a way so that all interlocutors would benefit from it by acquiring more knowledge.

5. The mind is a god for everyone.

6. The people must fight on behalf of the law as though for the city wall.

7. The truth comes to haunt liars and false witnesses…

8. Insolence should be extinguished faster than a fire.

9. Character determines fate.

10. If happiness were to consist of bodily pleasures, we would call bulls happy when they find peas to eat.
